There are only seventeen shopping days left until Christmas and I think I am just now starting to figure out what to get Mitch! OYE!!! Why are men so hard to shop for?!?!
Mitch is of course particularly hard! He doesn’t wear suits so no fun ties, cuff links, etc. He loves gadgets but can never wait long enough for any of them to become “gifts.” If you ask him what he wants for the occasion, his reply is always “I have her already;” which don’t get me wrong, I love hearing and it totally boosts my self-esteem, but for once cant he just say “you know I have been eyein and would love ______”?!?! I mean would that be soooo difficult?!?! lol! okay enough soap box.
Tis the giving time of year, it is often hard to remember that fact as we all are crossing items off our to-do lists, shopping lists and surviving our holiday obligations and commitments. Heck, as it stands I have managed to be more “holiday” productive at my office than in my home. Here we have the place fully decked out and the cards hit the post office today, where at home we still need the star attraction, the tree, and I haven’t even begun to think of cards let alone have some picked out, and now as I type this I feel the time passing even faster. OMG next Wednesday is my office’s Christmas party!!! Well there is more motivation to stay on track with my workout and diet schedule!
In all honesty it has been pretty easy to stay good the weight loss plan, but with the holidays I do get to craving the “bad stuff” that is so readily available. There boxes of sees chocolates here at the office, that sit open in our kitchen looking all yummy, and last night I had the strangest and strongest craving for a devils chocolate cake donut with chocolate frosting! Don’t know if I was craving the grease or the chocolate, but I settled for hot choco instead. I don’t know that it was the smartest thing to trying to loose weight just prior to the holidays, but I promise myself I will preserver and celebrate the victory by not having “Loose Weight” as top billing in my New Years Resolutions…
In denial, possibly
Forever optimistic, most definitely!
