Breather between Holidays (12/28/10)

Christmas is behind us; it is always kinda bittersweet isn’t it? I mean we prepare, plan, write, shop, clean, bake and wrap, all to make one beautiful Eve and Day wonderfully perfect, and just when you get all the toys, paper, bags, food and dishes cleaned up and put away, you are saying your love and good-byes to family members.

Well, the Lynn family had a lovely long Christmas weekend. The kids (to my surprise) were wonderfully behaved and loved their gifts. Dinner was delicious and the clean-up was thankfully pretty streamlined. Christmas day was wonderfully casual and went by entirely too fast for my liking. But the feast was fabulous and the bird was picture perfect!

For those of you taking advantage of the major holiday mark-downs and if you have younger or still youthful kids, I highly recommend getting this CD for next year’s fun. http://www.mymusicboutique.com/product/TB118-567202729

Teresa Brewer is WONDERFUL!!

She has a great voice and this album includes her own children in many of the songs. It is the perfect album to have on in the background while you and your children are baking cookies and decorating gingerbread houses. My Mother and I would dance around and sing along with this album all December long. This year, I was very blessed to once again be able to enjoy the songs and voices of the Brewer family while my family enjoyed the holiday together, and it just wouldn’t be Christmas if Mom and I were not in the kitchen singing along with them! LOVED IT!!!

It’s not your classic Nat King Cole or Ella Fitzgerald kind of Christmas album, it is very much a family based album and very very heartfelt and fun.

I hope you give it a chance and I hope you and your family find the magic in its songs, as my Mom and I have over the years. I personally am look forward to making memories with my little girl as we three generations of women dance around, sing along and bake away the month of December. After all, it just isn’t Christmas without magic!
