We did it! After being non-stop super busy every weekend since Thanksgiving, Mitch and I took a SERIOUSLY needed electronic free weekend!!! As of Friday end-of-day, we were unreachable!! And we LOVED IT!!!!
Life was once again simple and unoccupied by FaceBook and Twitter updates, there were no urgent texts that needed to be replied to, if emails came in we would simply discover them come Monday, and blissfully there was not a ring or ring-tone to be heard.
Now don’t get me wrong, we were not completely without electronic devices, I mean we did still have the necessities like TV/Satellite, coffee maker, dishwasher etc., we did not go for the complete roughing-it and camping experience, we just decompressed. We stayed up as late as we wanted, slept in until both mornings, and napped whenever our eyes got a little heavy.
It may be a sign of aging when a weekend like that is described as HEAVEN and BLISSFUL, but you know what, it was just that!
But as all good weekends must, it came to a close last evening and here we are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, back at the office making the money one needs to have the gadgets and lifestyle we have. Here is hoping we don’t go as long without a rejuvenating weekend like that again.
